That is why in commercial and similar environments, the administrator
sets a BIOS password
to stop the computer being booted from CD's, floppies, sticks etc. If
using the GRUB boot loader, this needs to be similarly protected.
By the way, a Windows installation CD is also quite capable of
destroying data on a hard disk.
