I believe that the suggestion was "try to install _this_ 64-bit
operating system rather than _that_ 64-bit operating system". If the
system loads and runs 64-bit Ubuntu then it is clearly a 64-bit system
and is working as such and that puts the problem down to the Windows
installation disk/process. You can always eliminate the Ubuntu
installation if you don't want it.
