Lightbulb I'm Back! Well, sort of...

Hello guys,

I must apologize for my lack of activity in the last couple of months. As many of you guys know I did quit my job in 2010 to do a Masters degree. But the economy was quite bad last year and I went through a long struggle to find a decent job. With limited/no internet, moving around the country, dwindling reserves; it was a difficult time.

But as a Christmas present, I got a good job in one of world’s top IT consultancies and joined the team in the 2nd week of Jan 2012. All is good for now (a 50Mbps unlimited broadband being the highlight!!! ). I am still settling in this new place, new colleagues, new apartment etc. But I hope I will be back soon!

Finally, thank you all for keeping the forums active in these difficult months; especially our mods Comptronic & echo off and members habibjp, maxmanrules, Wolfie276 and shawnpb.

Cheers,
Strider

Re: I'm Back! Well, sort of...

Thanks guys. Yeah, 50Mbps rocks! The only problem is my 4 year old laptop's HDD is struggling to handle that much data rate.

@Wolfie: I did my Masters in Advanced Computer Science (Concurrent programming & Security).

Struggling with 6.25MB/s? Ohwow.

EDIT: Sure you're not at 400Mbit/s?

Re: I'm Back! Well, sort of...

Occasionally my desktop freezes when it goes over about 7MB/s-and that's with a newish 7200RPM RAID setup
