It's really easy to flash BIOS. First backup your present BIOS file. Then flash with the Windows bios flash utility, if flashing fails just try flashing once again or flash with your saved original bios file. Also now motherboards come with crash free bios, just read your motherboard manual to recover from crashed bios, in cases it fails.

Re: 790i Mobo not seeing GTX 260

Hi guys, I have this same problem.

I'm using a Corsair 650TX (brand new DUE to this problem)
EVGA 260GTX
EVGA 780i SLI mobo

have flashed the bios as well as updated to the most recent version of the bios.

Have tried the gtx 260 in all 3 sli slots with the same problem : absolutely no display although it will boot all the way to windows and displays "FF" which apparently means fully functioning.

I have a 7950GT in the primary slot now and works perfectly. If i put the 260 in the primary and the 7950 in the secondary it gives the same problem as above where it says there is a card in the second or third slot so move it to primary.

I was running a 4800+ with an asus a8n mobo and the 260 worked fine, then i got new mobo/ram/cpu (q6600)/and PSU and now the 260 isnt working with it. The fan is spinning so it is getting some power but it does not display anything, please help!?

Re: 790i Mobo not seeing GTX 260

uhmm..this problem is getting more common these days, peoples 260's not showing up in lanes on the 790i boards. Go into the BIOS and check and see if theres a setting which you might have to disable or enable for newer cards to be detected properly. And also, your PSU does it have a decent amps supply on the PCI-Exp Power rail? Because if there isn't enough amps then your that might be the reason to why your graphics card ain't coming up on display.

Re: 790i Mobo not seeing GTX 260

I have thought since the beginning that it was some kind of simple bios feature which needs to be changed in order for it to work, but i haven't been able to find anything yet. Any ideas what it would be called or located?? I have changed one setting from pci to pcie but havent seen much else. Also, its 52A on a single 12V rail so it should be well beyond what is needed for my setup.

Re: 790i Mobo not seeing GTX 260

Hi, this is the OP again. I finally got my problem fixed. After updating my BIOS (flashed it, screwed it up, bought a new chip from biosman.com that was already updated to the newest version) the problem remained. I considered sending the MB back but decided to take EVGA up on their offer to RMA the card they had just sent me. When I got the new one, I stuck it in my comp and it worked!

So the whole time it really was the graphics card that was bad in my case. Weird that it worked in the other comp, but then we never let it boot all the way into windows, just took the fact that it showed a picture at all at start up as proof of it being good.

However, I have heard of other people having problems like ONP-RaGu. Unfortunantly I don't recall what the fix was. I suggest that you google it and just go through all the differnet tech forums you can find with people having similar problems. Thats how I stumbled upon it when I was looking for a fix for mine.

Thanks for those who tried to help, and good luck to those of you still fighting with your own problems!

Re: 790i Mobo not seeing GTX 260

Okay well I just tried out my card in a different system which should be adequate to run the card and it didn't have a display, so I'm gonna RMA it as well. Thanks for your help guys!
