FIXED IT!!
First, thanks for everyone that tried to help... even though none of it did. LOL! (It did help lead me in the right directions, so that's a little unfair.) I knew initially that the problem wasn't with the fact that my computer COULDN'T display the 1680x1050 resolution... it was just struggling to change it back and forth for some reason in full screen mode. Also, the setting it was set at was a weird setting like 1165x496 or something... (That was the highest I could get it to with my old card.) Now for some reason I couldn't change it back and forth. So I searched to see if I could circumvent changing the settings in game and change the settings by altering a config file or something. Red Alert 3 doesn't have a config file... it has a whole bunch of encrypted *.big files and other wierd files that were useless to me. BUT WHILE I WAS SEARCHING THE INTERNET... I found this little hack: Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Tool or Utility Red Alert 3 Co-Op Lan Enabler Utility (1.1) Download File on FileFront Its designed to allow lan gamers to play the co-op mode... but also allows you to play the game in "windowed mode." I was like, AH HAH! Since windows auto adjust to the size of the application, I opened the game in windowed mode and changed the settings like normal. AND IT WORKED THIS TIME! I closed the game and opened it normally and this time it was in its newly massive resolution of 1680x1050!! So I hope this thread helps anyone else thats having the same problem I did! I looked freakin' everywhere and nobody had any answers... Now, TECHTALKZ has the answers!! Thanks again! CIAO! |
