Inspiron 1545 Display Problem

I'm new here, I don't see a laptop section so I hope it's okay to post in here.

I'm trying to fix a Dell Inspiron 1545 and the display will not turn on, the computer powers on, HDD spins, I opened it up and the memory HDD and CPU are all seated properly...anyone had problems with this coputer? It's brand new.

Sounds like a RAM fault or overheating. Try replacing the RAM or take the unit back to the Dell if its under warranty or you can email them for further support.

For sure, I removed one of the RAM sticks and it works perfectly.
