No video output from computer
My 5yo desktop computer has lost it's video signal. The monitor is fine because it works when I plug it into my laptop. I can't see anything that obviously looks loose inside, but it did come on for a brief moment after swapping out the power source yesterday (another issue; had a noisy fan) but after having to shut down the computer I've lost any signal again.
I don't know if it's relevant but the motherboard is Intel D845glly. I don't think there is a separate video card - where the monitor plugs in it is just a part of the motherboard, not something installed in the slots. Any suggestions on where to start troubleshooting? I just use this computer as an extra for email checking and stuff but if I can get it useable again that would be great. Re: No video output from computer
I found the answer on another forum, but in case anyone else is having the same problem try reseating your ram sticks. Apparently mine were not seated properly, and the video came right up once I resolved this.
