sound card not detected!
i recently bought this pc config:
motherboard-790GX-G65 processor-amd phenom II x-4 Graphic-ati radeon 4890 smps-cooler master 600va cabinet-sniper after i install win xp the sound card is not detected! i've updated all i could but nothin seems to work! also, the pc keeps on freezing every now and then. pls help? |

What is your soundcard brand and model? Did you follow the installation steps from the accompanying user manual & installed the driver?

Looking in Device Manager, is the Sound Card showing at all? As in, does it appear as an Unidentified Device or is it simply not being listed?
If it's being listed as an Unknown Device download this driver here: If it's not being listed at all, try running the Add New Hardware wizard to see if it appears.

I believe, your motherboad needs to be looked into. With the Motherboad Drive installation CD, you will have the driver for the sound card too. Try uninstalling the sound driver from device manager and then reinstall.
I will suggest you to check the motherboad, since you get the problem of Freezing often. You can go for a replacement since yours is a new one.
