Most of you guys may have noticed the “Please wait while the document is being prepared” message of Adobe Reader 8. This can be quite annoying for slower PCs. This “Content Preparation Progress” is very long for huge PDF files in my old AMD computer. After searching a while I got a fix for this!

The Process is very simple:

1. Close Adobe Reader and Open My Computer and browse to the folder:

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\plug_ins

2. Find and delete the file Accessibility.api

3. Open Adobe Reader now and it may show a warning:

This version of the Adobe Reader does not support screen readers.

4. Check the “Do not show this message again” check box, and click OK

You are done! No more “Please wait while the document is being prepared” messages!
