Are you a regular blog commenter? Well, I am. I used to bookmark / subscribe all the interesting Techblogs I find and comment in some of the new posts. But in most case I will need to enter the fields like Name , Email & Website to submit the comments. Here is an easy way to auto fill (automatically enter) the comment fields with just the click of a button.
easyComment Add-on for Firefox
Benjamin Flesch released easyComment, a new Firefox extension that can simply the Wordpress blog commenting by automatically filling the Name, Website & Email comment fields. It can even enter a default comment also, like a signature. You may download the extension from Benjamin’s blog or from the Firefox Addon’s page (it’s in sandbox now, you may need to register until it’s approved).
Just install the Version 1.0 from here and restart your Firefox. You may need to add that domain name to the allowed list in Firefox for the installation to complete.
Once installed it will appears as the text easyComment in Firefox’s bottom bar.
easyComment – Usage
Right click on the easyComment text and choose Preferences to enter the default values for Name, E-mail, Website url and default comment text.
Once you enter the settings click Save to exit. Now open up any Wordpress blog post and click (Left-Click) on the text link easyComment in Firefox’s bottom bar. Bingo, the comment fields are autofilled!
Modify the message accordingly and hit Submit. It’s that easy, isn’t it? Well done Benjamin.
Suggestions from My TechLife
- Use a image button in Firefox instead of the text easyComment
- Support for Multiple profiles for those use different names and details in different blogs.
- And list the multiple profiles created in Right click menu for easy switching like another Firefox add-on SwitchProxy.

I loved how easy this plugin made commenting… but i lost the ability to comment on a TON of sites. Some sort of spam software recognizes that I’m using EasyComment marks me as a spambot. Using another browser, or firefox with EC disabled, and I can comment just fine. So, for now I had to uninstall it
