Lunascape is a new browser from Japan with an all new concept, multiple rendering engines. It offers support for Trident ( Internet Explorer), Gecko (Firefox) and Webkit ( Google Chrome and Apple Safari) rendering engines. In fact the browser was there for quite some time, but was in Japanese. The English version is still in Alpha stage, but in my tests proved stable enough for regular use.

You may choose your favorite rendering engine from the settings. But for a particular webpage if you need another engine just right click on the tab and choose the one you need. This is useful for viewing IE optimized pages while using Gecko/Webkit as default engines.
The download is around 8 MB which comes without the Gecko and Webkit installers. During setup these packages will be downloaded and installed. But it seems no proxy support is available for the installer, so only IE engine for corporate users. You may off course download the setups for other engines and install separately.

Even in alpha phase Lunascape is loaded with all the bells ‘n’ whistles, RSS and podcast feeds support, tab crash protection, mouse gestures, a library of Lunascape-exclusive plug-ins and skins, a form saver etc.
The company claims world’s fastest javascript performance with their tweaks in Gecko and Webkit cores.
With Lunascape 5.0a, we re-designed the fundamental architecture so that each rendering engine is optimized for best possible performance. Among many optimizations, the latest version of Gecko, the heart of Firefox, can be loaded into Lunascape. We refined it with special tweaks that realized the fastest JavaScript execution in the world. It was proven through our and third-parties’ researches that Lunascape flat out beats all other popular web browsers in this field. Enjoy smooth and pleasant Web 2.0 experience with Lunascape.

One thing I need to be integrated to this all new browser is Firefox Add-on support. Currently only IE addons work with Lunascape browser. Some dialog boxes are still in Japanese but with the international coverage those minor glitches should be fixed soon.
I am still exploring the features and looking forward to use it as my primary browser.
