I was thinking of buying a vbulletin license for my new forum GameTalkz.com. Initialy i thought of buying a brand new license. But then due to some other issues i screwed up my paypal balance & endup in a secondhand deal.
But the deal was smooth &Â fast. I got the license transfered in 12 hrs after payment. But i’m sure i was lucky. 
What i did to get a license:
1. Browse all webmaster related forums & search for vB owned licesne ( Note: VBulletin leased license is not transferable) in the Trade secton. Sent PM’s to sellers.
2. Post a WTB ( WannaTo Buy) post there.
3. Atlast met a member from the vbsetup forums.. He was moving to IP. So we chat for a while about the price i offered all I left in the paypal. He accepted.
4. This is the most important step. Take care here.
I demanded for the proof for the valid license. He sent me a few screensjots for the vBulletin admin panel. It shows a valid license with expiry date. But don’t be finished by this because one can get a screenshot from another guy’s post in the same forums.. 
Now to my surprise he gave the login details for the vB members area. Thats was great So it’s all about gaining trust. Look fo members with good reputation & post counts in the foums for making this kind of deals as the seller can recliam his license even after the transfer.
5. I immediately sent the payment & he sumied a support ticket for license transfer from vB members’ area. Within a few minutes one of vB support member contacted the seller for confirmation & his license details. He provided all necessary detiails like Credit card details, date of paurchase, vB client area access credentials, detials for the new owne etc.
6. Immedialtely i got a mail saying that do you want to accept this transfer. I replied with my confirmation and acceptance of the license terms. After a few minutes the second vB is mine..
Thats the end of the story guys..
