70% thinner LCD TVs announced by Hitachi!

Hitachi has announced its Ultra Thin Series of LCD televisions, to be launched in the market early 2008.

These TVs are said to be 70% thinner than existing normal TVs and will be available in sizes of 32, 37 and 42 inches, measuring only 35mm in thickness, which are claimed to be slimmest in the
world and will be available in four color variations; namely, Black, Red, White, and Blue

One more special feature, which I have never heard in a TV is that this new series will be offering freedom of placement. The monitor will be separated from the media station. As such, using the optional wireless unit, customers can place the TVs wherever they wish, or connect them to other consumer electronics. Freedom of placement is by the more increased by its weight of just 10.9 kgs.

One more special feature in this is that the TVs of these series look as sleek and elegant from the back as they look from the front, giving them a sort of 360 degrees aesthetic appeal. Also this feature makes them eligible to be placed just anywhere, not just against a wall, even in the middle of the room.

In addition to the Ultra Thin LCD TV Series, Hitachi has introduced full HD (high definition) Plasma and LCD TVs in India. These are immediately available.

LCD or Plasma TVs are not yet much popular in India, but they are gaining popularity at a fast rate. And I think this is why Hitachi has launched the whole series of HD Plasma and LCD TVs in India.
