Not the gPhone, but Android disclosed!!!
The whole world was somewhat crazy regarding the release of the gPhone or at least its secret as to what it was.. There has been a number of posts on our blog too. The latest one being related to some info that the gPhone was to be disclosed on Monday.
Monday came and went…. no secrets of gPhone were disclosed, except the OS that it will be based on i.e. Android.

Android is a joint venture of 30 technology and mobile leaders including Motorola, Qualcomm, HTC and T-Mobile. Here are some quotes to explain Android better, from somewhat the official site of Open Handset Alliance (OHA)
Androidâ„¢ will deliver a complete set of software for mobile devices: an operating system, middleware and key mobile applications. Android was built from the ground-up to enable developers to create compelling mobile applications that take full advantage of all a handset has to offer. It is built to be truly open. Android does not differentiate between the phone’s core applications and third-party applications. They can all be built to have equal access to a phone’s capabilities. Android provides access to a wide range of useful libraries and tools that can be used to build rich applications.
There was even a video on YouTube showing the launch, but it has been removed, don’t know why… But a good summary or ‘live coverage’ can be seen on Engadget.
This is sure a great milestone and is surely going to have a lot of changes in the mobile world. Many companies still have not participated, but can soon be expected to do so..
Anyway, coming back to the gPhone, when Eric (from Google) was asked again regarding gPhone, he said “The deal is we don’t pre-announce products… if there WERE to be a Gphone, it would run Android.”
The gPhone still remains a mystery, though a great venture being disclosed…
