For those who don’t know what OpenSocial is. It is a Web standard designed to let every social network support that wants to enable the sort of Web-based social applications that have helped made Facebook the talk of the Net in recent months.

This step by MySpace is quite a major step for all. Google’s OpenSocial is going to get a lot more to streamline the creation and adoption of social Web applications.

For developers, the addition of MySpace to OpenSocial is a major step, opening their applications to that social networking site’s massive base of users.

I think this will lead to the launch of a lot more social networking sites over the world. But the fewer the better. It is easier to find friends on one site like Orkut.
