daily droped up speed

Thanks for ideas, I have had a look round and had a think about the possible
problems. One thing I relized is we are in the Welsh Borders in a 200 year
old house in a hilly area.

Well its the power switch on it, a Brother HL 4240. But in turn this is
plugged into a multi surge resist socket that is turned off when the PC is
not in use. So the day we were out there was NO power supply to the printer
etc (this turning off comes from my work days and the way we bi passed to
trend of only having PC's going into a form of standby not being completely
off).

18inch stone wall to the front of the router, the nearest halogen light is
one stone wall, one block and a stud wall away (why we used a pri N
router!). Clearly radieo does reach most rooms as the router does. But it
took a long time to find where the router would reach those it does, even
with a pre N route,r not all rooms (one bedroom never had a working
signal) But no new lamps since we moved in.

Again 18 inch stone wall and nearest "lights" are 300 metters away and 20
merters below us and are the LED type ones (the hanging curtain type). The
next ones are a large garden disply about 2 miles away, at least 4/5
stonewalls between these ad the router. So thought not imposable its not
very likely.
