My po-up blocker settings in IE6 are already set to their highest level, along with specific sites I have blocked.

Upgrade to IE 7

Also make sure your computer is up to date via Windows Update and you have installed all available hotfixes and patches.

I think your problem could be solved by using combo fix,

You can get download and check how to use combofix from the below link http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/comb...o-use-combofix
Note: While running combofix don't click in that application window
