Re: Cannot access Antivirus Sites/Google/Avast etc.

Try downloading Firefox from mozilla.com
Also, try rebooting in safe mode and see if you can access antivirus sites from there.
If that doesn't work either, try to get an antivirus program from a friend on cd and install it on your system.
Install it in safe mode, because in normal mode I think you won't be able to do that.

Re: Cannot access Antivirus Sites/Google/Avast etc.

I took a look at your Hijack and Combofix reports. As far as I saw they seem ok to me. Maybe somebody else will take a look also for double checking.

Have you tried scanning with an antivirus from CD (antivirus program should be downloaded and written to CD on another computer) ?

Can you install a peer-to-peer program on your PC and see if you can download files from somebody else ?

I suggest you to try this to make sure that web browsing is the only service that doesn't work.

Re: Cannot access Antivirus Sites/Google/Avast etc.

Take the CD of kaspersky antivirus 2010 by downloading from any of your friends computer... before installing it, uninstall all your browsers...
Install the antivirus and fully update it....
Do a full scan in safe mode...
Later, fix other registry problems "Security+ tools in kaspersky antivirus 2010"

Are you saying that I should uninstall IE and Firefox?

Smile Re: Cannot access Antivirus Sites/Google/Avast etc.

Guys..I had this problem as well and it drove me crazy for weeks. I could not go to any antivirus companies website plus many other security related websites as well as microsoft.com and windowsupdate. Also my antivirus refused to update. I tried running a million anti-spywares scans and antivirus scans and eventually solved the issue by booting to safe mode and running the malicious software removal tool...amazing! Here's a site where you can download the tool and instructions on what to do:

SOLVED: Cannot Access Certain Websites - Conficker Virus Removal | proposed solution

Hope this helps.

Re: Cannot access Antivirus Sites/Google/Avast etc.

Hello,
I'm a newbie in this forum who really needs help. I just found out today, after 2 weeks of having no internet connection, that I can't access some secure sites:

McAfee – Antivirus, Encryption, DLP, IPS, Firewall, Email Security, Web Security, SaaS, Risk and Compliance Solutions
ESET - Antivirus Software with Spyware and Malware Protection
www.free.avg.com
Home Computer Security - Kaspersky Lab United States
www.paypal.com
Mozilla | Firefox web browser & Thunderbird email client

I can access google, microsoft, avast, symantec, and yahoo though. I read in some of the posts that this may be an indication that my pc has been infected by a virus/malware/spyware... I also noticed that my WOT(web of trust) ratings are not working anymore, and Firefox is not updating itself...Can you please help me figure out what's wrong?... I've ran spybot, and combofix, but still the problem persists...I'm not sure if I did it right though... I'm not techie, so I don't know much about troubleshooting such problems...Please help. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance!
