Re: Malware Removal from Website

What error message are you getting for your website. Is it the malware alert in red which you get when trying to view a website.

Debugging the malware from the site code seems next to impossible. You cant even notice what code might be causing the spread of malware.

My frank suggestion is to get the whole site down and upload he earlier back up without the malware. Then change all your passwords including the cpanel, ftp, sql database or every password that you can think about.

If you are using wordpress gt rid of the plugins. May be the plugins may be causing the issue.

Re: Malware Removal from Website

If you have written the software yourself, you should be able to do it yourself by looking through the code. If you did not write it yourself, I suggest you download the files, and you open the code up in Notepad++ or Sublime Text 2 and look for the common cheap hacks like the classic base64 encode of a javascript that it prints out.

If you do not feel safe looking for it yourself, you can contact your host for help, or you can visit the support forums for the software your website it running.

Re: Malware Removal from Website

If a hacker gets access to your website or blog and injects malware, your web content will be changed in the first place. This change may result in web files being deleted, modified or new files being added to your website. In order to remove malware detected on your website, you need to identify the exact changes that were done to your web files.

Re: Malware Removal from Website

I contacted with my host and they fixed the problem. They suggested me to change the FTP and Cpanel password.

Reupload your website with the help of ftp. After that change the FTP passwords.

Do you know what they did to fix the problem? I'm interested as in the past I've had Malware on my website, and I just deleted it and started it again.

Re: Malware Removal from Website

Hopefully they might have installed a fresh backup without the virus. If I am not wrong most of the hosts take regular backup of all the sites hosted with them so that they have a working backup if anything wrong goes with the hosting account or any particular site.

Re: Malware Removal from Website

I am sure that they have reuploaded the website. They scanned all the pages and then again put on the server.

techtalkz.com also faced the same problem last day. I am curious to know about how the forum owner fixed the issue. Looking for an update.
