New antivirus recommendation?

My Avira license just expired and I'm thinking about switching to another anti-virus. What can you guys recommend me? I had only Nod32 and Avira until now, so I'm open to a lot of suggestions. Also, if it's free, it's way better.

Go with the Microsoft security essential. Free and easy to use. Also download MRT.

Re: New antivirus recommendation?

Free - Avast
Paid - Kaspersky/Norton (Yes, Norton! It's much better and faster now)

Re: New antivirus recommendation?

If you are looking for free antivirus, then my favorites are Avast and Microsoft Security Essential. No idea about the paid software.

Re: New antivirus recommendation?

Avast works pretty good, I've read something about it. I think I might give it a shot. Right now, I'm using the one that comes with Windows

Are you talking about the Microsoft Security Essential or Norton?

Re: New antivirus recommendation?

I think he was talking about the Security Essential. I used that too, after Avira expired. I got Avast today and it seems fine. I'll see how good it is after a week or so...

I am a great fan of Security Essential from the last couple of months. It is working absolutely fine to me. Very recommendable if you want a good free antivirus.
