My laptop freezes a lot. Sometimes it will freeze for a few minutes and sometimes I have to power it down to get back up. Any help is appreciated

Re: Computer randomly freezes. possible malware or spyware

Have you run virus scans (including Malwarebytes), checked for updates, etc?

No problem. Do you ever get blue screens or black screens, or have you noticed any graphics problems? Does the laptop ever overheat? What temps have you seen?

Never overheats or blue screens. Just freezes from time to time. Should I post a Hijackthis log?

Go for it. I'm afraid I don't know how to make head nor tail of them but several of the experts on here do, so hopefully one of them can help.

In the meantime I would suggest running full virus scans, checking everything for updates, etc, etc, but in SAFE mode. You can get to safe mode by pressing F8 just before Windows loads, then you should see a black screen with white text, on which you can select safe mode (use safe mode with networking for updates ofc)
