Dell Media direct button, can it be disabled

if mediadirect button is hit incidentally, it will turn on the laptop
without the knowledge of the owner which will drain the battery.

i have looked in bios and dell media experience but could not find the
required solution.

thanx in advance

Dell uses a proprietary IPL (Initial Program Loader) in the
laptop's MBR that interprets button pushes and function keys.
If you're willing to lose the ability to boot directly to the diagnostic
utilities and to the System Restore partition, you can replace the
MBR with the standard Microsoft MBR by running "fixmbr" in
the Recovery Console. (Check with Dell tech rep first, to see if
the MBR in the Dell-supplied installation CD/DVD is the standard
Microsoft MBR.)
