Need admin password for dell latitude D610

madmun

I Bought a Latitude D610 off ebay but I cant use it
because it has an admin password. When I hit the
power button it goes to need a admin password screen.
I tried removing the batt for a couple of days but that
doesn't work and dell wont help because i'm not the
original owner of the computer. #7SZWN91-595B

Return it to the ebay seller for a refund. If he/she refuses, then file a
complaint for a refund through PayPal.

If you didn't use PayPal but instead sent a check or wired the money, then
congratulations on your new door stop.

PS- Dell *will* give you the master password if you can provide for them
your bill of sale/receipt of purchase for the notebook.......IF......it's
not stolen.

sounds like the seller wants negitive feedback. lucky for you ebay recently
changed the way their feedback system works. a buyer can no longer get
negitive feedback. worth making the seller aware of this before leaving the
negitive feedback. perhaps it will make them reconsider. but then again if
they stole the laptop in the first place they probbaly don't care about the
bad feedback.

Go after the Seller through PayPal or your Credit Card Co (you did use one
of these I hope). You have a limited time frame for PayPal

IF.......he used paypal he could file a dispute. I'd also run the tag with
Dell and ask if it is "flagged" (meaning stolen or not paid for).

Agreed. But the OP has not said he used PayPal. If check or money
wired...... he could file with ebay but his biggest hope is that Dell will
accept his purchase receipt - and this assumes that the system isn't listed
as stolen w/Dell.
