(free) WDK alternatives?

Hello, all. I was wondering if anyone knew of any Windows device-driver development kits other than Microsoft's WDK? Basically, I'm looking for something with a smaller footprint than the huge MS DDK package. Preferably free.

For Windows ? You won't get any other than the WDK.

Darn. Yeah, I was afraid that was the case. Well, I guess I'll just have to bite the bullet and use their bloatware then. Thanks again.
