printer language monitor

Hi,

I'm new in this forum. Similar question has already been submitted by someone else 7 years ago and I did not find any answer to. So I try again.

I'm working on a printer language monitor (windows 7/8) and I use the DDK source code (from pjlmon.c). The USB communication works fine, not the RS232.
When debugging, I see that the error, when connected on a COM port, the call to SetPortTimeouts (see snipet below) fails with error code 87 (INVALID parameter).
I've tried different parameters without success.
I'm investigating another solution like sending GetPrinterDataFromPort() with
ControID=IOCTL_SERIAL_SET_TIMEOUTS and InBuffer=(LPTSTR)&CTO as input parametrs. Doesn't work also...
Can someone help?

Thanks

code snipet:

COMMTIMEOUTS CTO;

memset((LPSTR)&CTO, 0, sizeof(CTO));
CTO.ReadTotalTimeoutConstant = 5000;
CTO.ReadIntervalTimeout = 200;
if ( !(*pIniPort->fn.pfnSetPortTimeOuts)(pIniPort->hPort, &CTO, 0) ) {

goto Cleanup;

}
