Re: Quake 3 and return to castle - "Could not load OpenGL subsystem" error

The problem is most likely related to your video card drivers which are not supporting OpenGL under Vista. Can you please provide the details of your hardware configuration like Video card, Motherboard etc.

If you have an ATi Videocard download here:

http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html

and If it's nVidia:

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

Also check for updates for both of the games and install them.

This problem means that ur onboard chipset graphics card doesn't support or has OpenGL enabled....or that ur Intel Onboard graphics card doesn't have the latest Intel Onboard..... drivers installed!.......Feel free to always update!!
Or another reason it could be being is that u using a crack for Quake 3, happened to me!!!

Both of the games is based on a Enhanced OpenGL graphics engine.....likely to ur drivers outdated or not updated...!!!

Re: Quake 3 and return to castle - "Could not load OpenGL subsystem" error

i know this thread is rather old, but i have the same problem. i dont think its a graphic card problem because when i was using my old monitor i could play quake 3 normally. when i changed to my new one, i cant play coz of this openGL reason when i try to run the game. i had kept my old one so when i put it back to check, quake was running fine...

i havent found how to run quake with my new monitor yet..

i have also attached the belarc report
