Silent Hill 4 Runtime Error: URGENT!!

Hi...I recently got another Silent Hill masterpiece to my collection and this one is Silent Hill 4 The Room for PC.
I installed it normally no errors until I run the game.

When I open the game a error dialog box pops up saying:

I can't load the game as this message always pops up....does anybody have a cure for this problem...please...it is urgent!!!!!

And I'm using XP PRO SP2!!!

the exe file is corrupt, reinstall or return the game cd/dvd and get a replacement.

Its a DVD and I've already got it replaced twice....I went on the Konami support forum and their was a similar problem and they suggested that I get the latest Visual C++ Program update because my XP is a 2001 or 02 version SP2 and the Visual C++ is an older version to what that Silent Hill Requires which the game is a 2004/5 game! So theirs no way the disc is corrupt after exchanged twice!

The message dialog comes up when I insert the dvd in for the game on my computer to initialise the disc to see if it is the original.....after a few seconds.....then this Runtime Error comes up and Silent Hill 4 is terminated!!!

Then install the runtimes if you don't have, normally the game installer should install them.

thnx....I got a CD patch from Konami yesterday that fixed the problem!!!!

But also thank you for the Visual C++ runtime links.....it will help in future!!!

skx, I am having this same issue with this game. i re-purchased this game thinking it was the dvd but I believe my problem is the same one you were having. Would you be able to make the patch available for download? Thanks

SKX will assist you ASAP. In the mean time try to Download and install the following Visual C++ Run time libraries:

Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x86)

Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86)

Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

.NET Framework 3.5

Try to run the game after each install.

Actually I did not obtain the patch from Konami..due to illegal reasons I had to hide my way of making a crack. Heres my crack...Happy Gaming...and yes before you ask...I am a member of RELOADED. No more questions and no spreading of these words. Our cracks in the scene don't want no one knowing who we are!
