Dungeon Keeper 2 Video Issue On Vista
Hello,
I've been trying to get Dungeon Keeper 2 to work for ages on Windows Vista Home Premium, but it will only do so in software mode. The game recognizes the video card and defaults to hardware acceleration [which is what I want], but when I go into the game screen the main screen is black, even though the interface, text, and mouse pointer can be seen. Something I found out was when you zoom all the way in, the main game screen comes into view and you can see it is in hardware mode, but when you zoom back out, it gradually turns to black the more you zoom out. Therefore, if it's technically running the game in hardware mode, you'd think that there's some kind of fix to maintain the main game view even when you zoom all the way out, but I can't think of one. It's been patched [to 1.7], I've tried the "dual-core uncheck" idea, matching desktop and game resolutions, updating the video drivers, and nothing has worked. I'd really like to find a solution for hardware mode since software mode, as we all know, looks like crap. I went into first person view with that and nearly lost my lunch. Any ideas? Thanks. |
