THE SHARP eye of a reader managed to spot that Dell USA has already listed Nvidian 7900 GS cards.
You can buy them in Dell's XPS 410 product line and if you look closely, you will see that the card is supposed to run at 470 Hz core and 660MHz memory. The card is using 256-bit memory interface and has 256MB of ram. Dell claims that new Nvidia card has seven vertex Shader units and twenty pixel Shader pipes. The card has dual DVI links. At the same time, a German chap managed to get some additional specifications. He claims that the card works at 450MHz core and 1330MHz memory. The clocks are similar to 450/1320MHz speeds of the already-present 7900 GT card, but the new 7900 GS has 20 pipelines while the 7900 GT has 24. That is the key difference. The card also uses 256MB of 256-bit memory. One less mystery for the world. I wish I could say the same about the Bosnian pyramids. News source: THEINQUIRER |
