Immediate Help Please - Computer not Booting after Changing Power Suppy Unit (PSU)

Hello,
I think I had a broken 300W PSU (power supply unit), which I replaced with 450W today. The first time, it opened my windows as normal, when I came back to check if everything was ok, I found my computer frozen in POST, I tried rebooting, but nothing comes up on screen. I disconnected all hardware including RAM to eliminate any possible hardware conflict, connecting them one by one, still nothing. I took off the video card and tried using the onboard video, still nothing.
I would appreciate any suggestions, whatsoever, I desparately need to revive my PC.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Immediate Help Please, Read!

I just wanted to add: The PC doesn't beep at all. I didn't add no new hardware/software. I can see nothing at all when rebooting.

Re: Immediate Help Please, Read!

how is that possible? Ok, let's say it is possible that has caused some trouble, what is the next step? I thought the mobo might have an issue. I am not clear at all.

Re: Immediate Help Please, Read!

Can you please give me full details as to what happened???
And what brand is the new 450W PSU, is it a budget one or a good one???
And also open up your pc case and smell if there is anything burnt or anything that has melted??? Do the same at the back of the PSU, smell if there is anything burnt out of it??? Do these things and then reply!

Re: Immediate Help Please, Read!

a simple way to test whether it's the PSU, is by using another temporary PSU. Also it might be a psu internal hardware failure or cannot supply enough power due to some failures, and your mobo and all are still ok.

Re: Immediate Help Please, Read!

Simple way to check ur PSU or SMPS is,
just see if ur CD/DVD drive opens & closes when u eject it.. Even if the motherboard breaks, the CD drive should open & close.
If the CD drive doesnt Open then there is a chance for ur mobo to be safe. and ur PSU or SMPS might got off, so change it.

Re: Immediate Help Please - Computer not Booting after Changing Power Suppy Unit (PSU)

Hello,
I smelled the inside of computer, none of the parts smells like burnt. I also check the DVD burner, it ejects and closes as normal. It is a budget PSU, but since it is brand new, I expected it to work. I could be PSU, I couldn't check another PSU as i don't have a spare one at the stage. If it is the PSU, I can get a replacement since it has 12 mnths wrnty on it and I bought it yesterday, but if it is mobo, I have be certain before I buy a new one.
Thanks for all the suggestions, any other suggestion would be appreciated.

Regards,

Sydman
