Right, so that means if I had a $2000 machine built that will be how much in INR? And Intel is more expensive in India then AMDs?

2000usd ? now that's some 97000INR and it's quite a lot for a Desktop. You can hardly find anyone here spending 97k for a desktop

prices are more or less similar, like last time I checked, E4600 was 5450INR and Phenom X3 8450 was at 5400INR, but when you think about the motherboard and perhaps a bit of overclocking AMD cpus has better mobos at cheaper price that Intel cpus

Wow, I'm astounded by this post. I never knew some money like $2000 would end up to 97000INR, yeah now that you've give me some good examples which Dark Star didn't, AMD is alot cheaper then Intel, why though?

Thnx Baku, well $800 can get you a light gaming/entertainment system

Would you prefer AMD or Intel based?

Again?!
lol. DS is so AMD.
i am so Intel and ATI

well i would like to say something:
AMD = GAMING
Intel = MATHEMATHICS
i do hate mathematics and calculating and all, but AMD has a better performance in games (i am talking abt CPU), maybe intel is more advanced then AMD, intel released the quad core b4 AMD does. but AMD is way cheaper
for grfc cards ATI rules now with performance and price.

Conculsion making a gaming pc with the same performance on ATI + AMD would be half the price of an intel + Geforce !
there is a rule on hardware products: having a parts from the same manufacture would give better performance.
as i know AMD and ATI are the same company, same factories and same owners.
as for intel and geforce they are diffrent.

every one knows tht Gefforce have problems with its grfc cards, they do pay a lot of money to gaming companies so they make the game works properly on Geforce.. tht's why you always see the nvidia logo in the intro video of maaaaaany games, but i only saw ATI once!

No offence, (i dnt wanna get banned too )

lol wrong...best card from ATi the 4870x2 2GB costs $759 here. Nvidias current best the GTX295 better performing then the 4870x2 costs only $712.

Now reconsider your next statement before you reply back to this

BTW...Intel owns AMD....but not saying AMD is bad...but if you compare by perfomance/price ratio...I'd probably step over to the AMD boundary and say they would be better deal then.

Re: I need some help for Hardware configuration

it is true that this was the last release of ATI just before GTX295 came out and it is more powerfull the the 4870x2.BUT after the realese of new drivers 4870x2 is better then GTX295 by less then 3%. GTX295 consum less power then the 4870x2
follow this link and scroll down to the bottom of the page, srr it is in franch but you will understand the table
got me in that. and got me in the price
Quote:
The cheapest 4870x2 is $729
still the 4870 x2 has a better definition,, psecially with antialliasing activated!
as for FPS scores GTX295 is better the 4870x2

well GTX295 doesnt have a TV OUT

Conclusion: GTX295 and 4870x2 are 2 monsters but each one is advantaged on the other in somethings!
i am sure you will go for GTX295, as i am sure i will go for 4870x2 but as i saw this past 3 hours i spent searching the internet review per reviw, test by test.
GTX295 gives more performance and less power use, a slightly cheaper price
HD 4870x2 gives better definition , more memory size (2GB), and some other advantages like DX 10.1 support and better memory clock
