Re: Getting a ram for my PC

WTFWTFWTF....PC125 RAM??? I never heard or seen a PC125 RAM!!!

I only have and seen PC66, PC100 and PC133 for the SDRAM ranges. Your system may be overclocked. Try resetting your CMOS back to default, heres a bios update for your motherboard.

OK, update, I just found out that its an old Packard Bell motherboard and Gigabyte never really sold them to the public except through Packard Bell distribution, judging by the i810 chipset and assuming that this is your motherboard
GIGABYTE - Product - Motherboard - Specification - GA-6WMM7

Then heres a list of latest BIOS and driver updates for it:
BIOS:GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS - GA-6WMM7

CPU Support list, with latest BIOS:
GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - CPU Support List - GA-6WMM7

Hope that helped.

Re: Getting a ram for my PC

WTF...you should've just bought the RAM, of course it would work, that guy was probably on mary jane or cocaine.

Theirs only two BIOS updates you need to do and their listed on this site link I gave in the previous post
GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - BIOS - GA-6WMM7

Overall, its always good to update to the latest in everything.

BUT first go on the links I gave you and see if that motherboard picture matches the one with your one. Because I'm not really 100% positive.

If you need help with the BIOS updating just let us now here.
It will most likely be packed in a RAR SFX installer. Usually I extract it and then locate the all the files in the extracted area. Then I format a Floppy by choosing the Make MS DOS bootable option. Copy all the sfx extracted files onto the floppy disk. When asked to replace autoexec.bat....click yes to replace..then take it out and make sure your BIOS is set to boot from floppy A: first before hard drive, load the floppy up and then it should start updating.

Re: Getting a ram for my PC

Yeah np jihed, the PC133 should work it has to. Their is only 3 types of SDRAM ever released on the market. PC66, PC100 and PC133 were the only ones ever to be made and manufactured. Thats why I mentioned earlier that your machine might be overclocked or RAM speed and timings changed. Reset the CMOS, go into the BIOS before POST and load default values and then save and exit. Update your BIOS with the floppy method I mentioned and after that, go back into the BIOS again and make sure you set the boot priority to A before HDD, their also should be a way to choose CD ROM as a boot priority, weird if it can't. After its all done updating, slot in your new RAM module and it should come up now as a new bigger value.

Hope it helped!
