iBUYPOWER Gamer Extreme 549 Gaming PC - Overheating?

I just purchased a iBUYPOWER Gamer Extreme 549 Gaming PC. Its actually a nice gaming rig. It seems to run really well. it has a like six fans plus a cpu fan. I installed speedfan and saw that after a while of playing a game my comp was kind of hot like in the 50s C on speedfan. plus the GPU gets hot sometimes. Speed fan only shows one fan speed which is probably the cpu fan only. I was thinking of installing a fan controller to set the fans at a higher speed, SHould I do this or should I do something else

here are the specs on this website

iBUYPOWER Gamer Extreme 549 Gaming PC - AMD Phenom II X4 940, 8GB DDR2-800, 500GB, GeForce GTS 250, DVDRW, 800W, Vista Home Premium 64 at CircuitCity.com

The temp reads for speedfan say:

GPU: 40C
Temp1: 41
temp 2:35
Temp3: 44
Core: 42

The one fan is turned on max 100%

The CPU & GPU temperatures are not that high. Do you have any performance issues or Windows crashes?

actually its about in the 50s during game play. It shows the fire symbol on speedfan. Anything to worry about?

No 50c on full load is a perfectly safe temperature.

Re: iBUYPOWER Gamer Extreme 549 Gaming PC - Overheating?

I'm actually trying to win a Lan Beast computer from ibuypower on xfire contest.

Those temps are pretty good but of course that case is the Antec 900 which has 8 fan slots in total I think it is. Make sure they have done a good job on wire manangement, some vendors just slot power cables etc and leave a wire mess which blocks our good circulate airflow to exhaust and intake air to keep your inards of the computer cool.

Also if your pc does ever get to hot, just a buy a good Multi Fan Controller and install it and set the FAN to either Min or Max or Halfway. A good example of this is Zalman 6 Fan controller I have in my dads Media Center setup and runs really good and cost cheap too.

Heres some more

Also operating temperatures:

CPU: 65'C under load is about the max you would wanna get from your computer, any higher means you have to clean the CPU fan out or upgrade
GPU: 90'C max is about the highest threshold you would wanna get from your graphics card, but playing under normal games will only get about 70-80'C any higher means your doing stresstest or benchmark programs. If your card is going beyond 90'C then clean out your card or upgrade to a 3rd party aftermarket cooler.

cool thanks ya they actually tied up all the wires with zip ties so its neatly organized and not causing blockage from air flow. Thanks for that, the heat sink looks to me like its a good one.
