is my laptop dead or can I revive it?
Toshiba laptop, Satellite M30, make a VERY long story short; it doesnt boot up at all! I can press the power button: the blue light indicating that I pressed the power button comes on but NO signs of life! No fan kicks in, no MS Windows XP logo, NOTHING.....I am using the power cord it came with....(battery is still "inside" the laptop".....but other than that I have done nothing else to this computer.
It wasnt that long ago, that I was having to try and clean up some viruses off this thing in SAFE MODE (about 6-8 mnths ago).....then not too long ago, I would TRY to log in but it would go to a BSOD with a C0000021a error. and now, nothing. what can I do here? is there anything TO DO? Have some data on that HD i want and need and I hate to throw out the computer...it still is a good one when alive. HELP! would love this thing to at LEAST go to safe mode. |

try to clean your memory (RAM) with eraser at bottom of the RAM.. n then use another slot to insert this RAM...(IF have a 2 slot).. ar u can use your hard disk to external so u can save your data.. ![]() |

Their might be a possibility that your Laptop is overheated and inards is fried. Contact the vendor and see what they have to say about it.

Re: is my laptop dead or can I revive it?
Looks to me that the main board of your system is already dead.
Try it this way, remove the battery and disconnect it from the AC adapter. Press and hold the power button for 10 secs and then re-install the battery and reconnect the AC adapter. Turn on the laptop, if its still the same do this next step. Try turning on the system without any RAM modules installed. See if you'll hear any beeping sound. If there is none, then its about 75% that the mother board is dead. |
