Is Digital Camera an input or an output device?

That is a common question being asked in IC-TECH viva. Is Digital Camera an input or an output device? we had quite a debate on it but no final answer could be concluded. |

it's both.
it's like how a computer is both. - it's not like before, a film camera, is an input device. you input into the film. with digitization you input to media, then output to screen. - it's evolved now. unlike a keyboard, which is an input device. |

I agree with wcogent. But 'input device' and 'output device' are computing terms; they don't exactly fit for consumer electronic devices like digicams.

...or we can just call it a camera device. It takes pictures, then puts them on your computer.

I'd agree with RootbeaR that it is a recording device. It takes pictures (somewhat recording it) and also it records video clips.
