Unhappy Email Issue

I was recently discharged from my job for an email that they say I fabricated. I sent an email that showed up in my sent box but never was received and they are saying it was fabricated because nothing shows up in the tracking logs. A month later they searched for the email and wanted me to provide the original email from my sent folder. Well a month had passed and the email was no longer in the sent folder, just the forwarded email was.

They are saying that their tech person says that this issue CANNOT happen on their system. I have found numerous others that have had the same issue that the email is sent to the sent folder but never reaches the server or the firewall to leave a tracking mark.

I provided links of these issues and they returned saying that these issues that I provided were in Outlook and they use exchange. They also say that the issues I provided were IMAP systems with a locally held ISP. I am not techy enough to understand what they are saying. I am meeting with their tech about this issue but want to go in with more information. I have found that it indeed has happened in exchange that an email can be in the sent box but cannot be found on any tracking logs and was never received.

Could you help me out please and let me know if you have heard of this type of issue happening on an exchange email system with a Barracuda firewall. I know for sure I sent it and I saw the original email a few days later in my sent box where I forwarded it. I don't understand how they can say it ABSOLUTELY cannot happen on their system when I see it happening to many people and no one knows an answer to how it has happened. They say its random and cannot be reenacted so troubleshooting is very difficult. If this is the case how can a tech say that it ABSOLUTELY cannot happen on their system?

Thank you so much for your help

Re: Email Issue

I'm not sure I understand the issue.

1. Did you receive an email from someone and forwarded it to someone else?

2. Are you trying to prove that you sent the email or you didn't sent it?

Can you please provide those links?

Also, if they're using exchange server, then you must be using Outlooks an email client in your computer. So, they must be relevant.

Re: Email Issue

I am trying to prove that I actually did try to send the email. I tried to send the email on a Thursday and found out that it was never received on the following Monday. When I went to my sent box it was in the sent box and I forwarded it to the person to whom I sent the original one to explaining I didn't know what happened to the previous email but here it was below.

Here are the links I provided them that they said could not happen on their system. They returned saying the office system uses exchange and that the problems I provided was specific to outlook so the same issue could not have possibly happened on their set up. Well I used what I was pretty sure was outlook or some kind of email software that I used a link from my start menu to read the mail.

Emails go to sent folder but are not always sent. No error messages. - Microsoft Community

Here are four more instances where the same thing is happening and these specifically say they are using exchange. Unemployment has denied my benefits and I have appealed that as well. So any help you can give me of how a tech company can come possibly come back and say a set up using exchange, obviously some kind of software for reading the emails etc, and a firewall is any different than all the different types of setups that these 7 different companies had, who have had the same problem happen, would be GREATLY appreciated.

[QUOTE=Strider;2112824]I'm not sure I understand the issue.

To explain a little better of what happened. I sent an email to an external email address. The email was never received by the recipient. The following Monday I noticed that the person I sent the email to never put on their schedule the appointment I made her, which was what the email was about. I went to my sent box and saw that the email was in there that I had sent so I forwarded that original email explaining I didn't know what happened. The forwarded email was received by recipient. My company believes that I forged the forwarding email because they do not have any record in their tracking logs and in the firewall tracking log that any email was ever sent. I did research in the 7 links I shared in my previous post showing that others have had issues with the email showing up in their sent box but never actually being sent. There is no trace of the email in any logs and if it wasn't for the email being seen in the sent box you wouldn't have known that an email had ever been sent or tried to be sent.

I am trying to prove that i tried sending the email and just because there isn't a trace of the email in their logs doesn't mean there was a gliche in the software and that it was actually in my sent box at the time i forwarded the email. It was a month after this happened that the company decided to look into the matter and unfortunately for me I no longer had the sent email in my sent box. I only had the forwarded one. SO they fired me saying that I'm lying.

Hope this explains it better.
