Buying a new PC.

If I am to buy a PC immediately in a month, what could be the config for both Intel and AMD. Prices if possible too please. No graphics included, I know about them but mention both onboard and offboard (lol) solutions

Budget can be expanded to a max upto 35k inclusive of a good LCD monitor.

On Intel Side this one will match your budget

Asus P5LD2-VM SE here ---> 5100
Sony DVD writter ---> 2400
Samsung 17" LCD/TFT ---> 11000
Transcend 1.0 GB-DDR-400 533 MHZ - PC4000 ---> 3800
A Good cabinet with OK SMPS ---> 2000
A good set of Keyboard n mouse from logitek (Since you are the typo killer...hehehe) --->1000

I would prefer a 17" flat CRT and spend the extra 6000 on RAM or getting E6600

For AMD, with 35000 budget, i guess you can get 3800+ X2 (939 socket) with Asus A8N-E mobo. rest config same.

I haven't head of any problems with Linux and dual core.

For processoer check out my guide
Choose the right processoe
Go for min of 512 MB of Ram and FOr hdd go for no less than 160 Gb. For ram go for genuine Kinsgtaon or corsair.If going for a lcd ,i recommend prefer Crt it is better than Lcd cause LCd produces Blurs and Ghost.
