No signal to monitor...

Okay, I have an emachine (not sure of the model), and it seems to boot, I can hear the hard drive spin. I tried removing and reseating the RAM, attaching to both the on-board video and an added video card. I tried removing the extra video card. The computer was apparently working 2 days ago, then I moved it (no, I didn't drop it, didn't do much of anything to it) now it isn't sending a signal to the monitor.

Thanks for the help

Re: No signal to monitor...

I did that, the monitor (and connections) is fine. I also tried connecting my pc to two other monitors, with the same result.

Check the graphics card, it's power connections, and weather it is properly attached with the pci-x slot.

Re: No signal to monitor...

The system comes with on-board graphics. I tried using another graphics card, which didn't work, so I removed it and reverted the on-board. The problem persists with either. As far as I know there is no connection/power connection to check with on board graphics, right?

Thanks

Re: No signal to monitor...

yes the onboard graphics receives power directly. Since it happens with other monitors also, it might be a problem with your motherboard.

Re: No signal to monitor...

That's what I was afraid of. In my experience, there is not much to do about motherboard problems... oh well.

Thanks

Yeah, thats correct. But before dumping it check the BIOS settings for video cards amd ensure they are configured correctly for on board graphics. Also if possible try connecting it to a differnt PSU.
