If you just reinstall Windows, without formatting the drive, the data should be preserved. How ever you may lose the files in the Documents & Settings folder (ie. in desktop, My Documents etc.).

If asked give the Windows directory a different name like Windows1.

Well thats the things i want to save, programs and other stuff i can reinstall.
Is there any program i can use to save some of the files like a dos-program? Tried with the recovery console but i only get access denied when i try to copy Documents and settings or enter it.

Maybe use an Ubuntu disc and load it only from the disc not installing it?

Yeah, that should do. Then backup the files to a portable USB drive. Check out this guide.

Active@ Boot Disk - Graphcal & easy to use. Use the Trial version.

Ultimate Boot CD
