Exclamation Horribly confused!! =s

HI all,

I have just built my first computer so im not too good with the tech side of computering..woop..anyways my mate helped me put it together and he's built many computers and knows what he's doing. When complete the computer didn't want to turn on..problem.. so we took the battery from the motherboard out and let it reset then it worked fine..the next day I wanted to kill some *****ez in unreal tournament but it did not turn on again..so i did the battery thing again and it worked. It has been a couple of weeks since the build and it is still doing it. sometimes I get the boot up beep and other times i get the beep and then a long buzzing lower pitched beep. I noticed that the processor fan spins and stops before and while the long buzzing lower pitched beep is..well beeping away. Wondering if its the graphics card or the drivers, or the processor..even my mate is stumped as to what it could be and he's done some insane computer course.

If anyone knows what could be he problem or has experienced the same thing your help would be much appreciated.
