Acer Travelmate 517TE laptop acess display
Help: I have a dim display on my Acer Travelmate 517TE laptop and I think that it is the backlight since it works on an external monitor. I would like to get to the inverter and its fuse. To do this I have to remove the coverplate of the display. I have removed two top screws, but the coverplate is still tight. There must be at least two other screws at the bottom of the display, or more, but I can not find them. I am in hopes that 95 percent of the time the blacklight is fine but the invertor or fuse must be replaced.
What I need, of course, is an exploded view of the laptop display which will show all the fastners. The manual for this which is online is a general user guide which does not provide any real information about repair. I have not been able to find a free service manual. I have not as yet phoned Acer service, but I doubt that they will be of any help for a ten year old laptop. Any advice I hope! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
