Nvidia Video Driver missing after a shut down due to CPU overheat
Not sure if this is where i'm supposed to post this but here goes. My computer was working fine forever, till all of a sudden 3 days ago, it just crashed. i got a msg saying that my computer shut down due to CPU overheat (it didn't overheat, i watch it) when i get back on it tells me that i'm missing an NVIDIA driver. i dl, i remove and re-dl it, and still it tells me that i'm missing it. if i take out my VC (Video Card) and use the onboard VC i can use my computer normally...if i try to put my VC back in then it crashes randomly, and as soon as i open either IE or Firefox the screen goes blank, and i have to unplug the computer to reset. but like i said, if i take out the VC, i still get the missing driver msg, but the computer doesn't crash or freeze up on me. So, plz help

Re: Video Driver missing
Have you tried to reinstall NVIDIA driver with the latest updates?
If you still get the problem, may be your graphic card need to be replaced!!

Re: Video Driver missing
I strongly doubt that your video card is fried. Please take it to a service center and get it checked.

Re: Nvidia Video Driver missing after a shut down due to CPU overheat
yea, i've tried to update the driver, i've removed and reinstalled the driver, i even wiped my hard drive and started all over. the driver that it says is missing is the one for the onboard video, how do i fix that? i thought maybe a bios update or something, but it wont even let me do that, it just tells me my bios is up to date. for someone who is supposed to be going to school for this kinda thing, i feel dumb! thanx for the replies, and any further suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you |
