DVD RAM problem
Hello all,
I am using windows 7 ultimate on Fujitshu A1110 notebook which has MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ870BJ. Recently I couldn't burn any DVD using this device. When I insert blank DVD it doesn't open. Or if I sent some file to this ROM after inserting a blank DVD, message showed 'please insert a writable DVD'. I tried same blank DVD with another PC and it works on that PC. How can I resolve it? Thanks all |

Are you sure it's a DVD -r +r Writable dvd drive? Open "My Computer" high light the DVD rom and take a snapshot of it and post it here. Also do the same by going to properties on the drive then click on the device. take a snap shot and post it here as well.

I assume you mean the Fujitsu Lifebook A1110? If so, it should have a dvd writer-i checked it out.

thank you all for quick response. Yes my lapy is Fujitshu A1110 lifebook.
yes it is DVD writer but device name showed as 'MATSHITA DVD-RAM UJ870BJ' that's why I mentioned so. I am waiting for a good solution from you all. thanks again |

I solved this problem. I cleaned the head of DVD writer with compressed air flow. Then inserted the disk again and it worked

your drive lens is faulty. go get it fixed or have it replaced.
