Movie files become zero-time-length

SOME (NOT ALL) movie files (various file extensions) that play well in VLC-in-Win7 when still on External Hard Drive, are reduced to zero length (but NOT zero bytes) when copied to 64Gb micro SD card, and so do NOT play in VLC (or GOM). Is there a remedy ?

Did you try re-formatting the uSD card as NTFS? It usually resolves these kind of issues.

I tried and failed;but I seem to have hit on a winning formula : By doing it in a different PC, using Win8.1 Pro (instead of Win7 Ultimate); and copying files one at a time, I have achieved my aim of filling the SD card with movies - of real-time length, which play.
