Graphics Card Compatibility/Install Question

Hello folks.

I have a Lenovo Desktop that I am trying to install a dedicated graphics card into. It currently uses onboard graphics.

Here are it's specs

Lenovo H520
i7 3770 3.4
1TB HDD
8G RAM
Windows 8 (8.1)

I upped the power supply to 750w and tried using another graphics card I had extra.

MSI N650-MD1GD5/OC GeForce GTX 650 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card
.

I've disabled the onboard graphics, set the BIOS for PEG, and tried restarting a few times - with no success. I am not getting any display.

The graphics card is powered, and I am not sure what is wrong.

Please advise!

Thanks TT!

Re: Graphics Card Compatibility/Install Question

Is the motherboard recognizing the graphics card?

Does the motherboard have more than one PCI-E slot? If so, make sure the graphics card is in the preferred slot.

Read the motherboard manual, it should have directions on installing a graphics card and setup info. (you can find the manual at the manufacturer's website, usually in PDF format, if you don't have a hard copy)
