Stackhash error in Vista 32-bit

Whenever IE attempts to start on my Vista machine, I get the following sort
of error:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: iexplore.exe
Application Version: 7.0.6000.16512
Application Timestamp: 46807103
Fault Module Name: StackHash_8d13

I've reset IE to default, disabled all add-ons, done the normal fixes that I
found for the error. Reinstalling the application is probably out of the
question, and nothing else is causing me problems. Any ideas on how to
proceed?

Hi Rob,

It does not help even my machine says the Java is up-to-date - I reinstalled
it anyway and problem is still there.
