"Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled"

I can't seem to change this setting. Even with "manage add-ons" nothing
changes as the option is grayed out. I keep getting a warning sign when I
open IE saying "add-on has been disabled but is needed for IE 7 updates"
EVERY time. Isn't there some option to enable add-ons without having this
annoying pop-up??? Please help.

Re: "Internet Explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled"

Hi,
1. Right-click the IE icon on the Start Menu, choose Properties. Go to the
Shortcut tab. In the Target field, if "-extoff" is at the end of the path to
iexplore.exe, edit it out leaving "C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer\iexplore.exe" (leave the quotes.)

2. Internet Options> Advanced> Browsing> check "Enable third-party browser
extensions."

Hope this helps,
Don

Windows version? Is this a sudden, new problem or an ongoing one?

Hi, I tried what you suggested, but it is still saying that IE is currently
running with add-ons disabled.
