Cannot scroll pages using mouse scroll wheel - it does not function in IE8 at
all.

Tested this on Vista and Windows XP SP2.

Cannot validate. It works for me on Vista SP1 x86.
I use a Microsoft optical notebook mouse.
What mouse do you use? Do you use the latest drivers for the mouse?
Does it happen on all web sites? What about msdn2.microsoft.com?
What about other apps like Windows Explorer or Notepad?

can't validate too,
sometimes the site scroll up automatic, but in general the scroll
works.

(Vista ultimate 32, no SP)

Re: mouse scroll wheel does not work in IE8

Hi SvenC,

I have tested this on 3 machines on which there are 3 Vista SP1 and 5
Windows XP SP2 installations with 1 Logitech optical mouse, 1 Logitech
mechanical mouse and 1 Media-tech optical mouse. Mouse wheel worked nowhere.

I have no problems with mouse on any of those machines with any application
except IE8.

Maybe you should not use any Logitech utility?

I guess this is not the problem,
Logitech Setpoint 4.00.121 here, without this problem...

My Logitech MX700 Optical Mouse works just fine with Mouseware 9.7 software
installed on Vista Ultimate 32-bit.

Re: BUG: mouse scroll wheel does not work in IE8

Hi,

Checked this issue again.

Please, excuse me for overgeneralizing. As it turns out, mouse wheel works
on most websites, but there are such pages in which it doesn't work. Try to
use mouse wheel after opening these addresses in IE8:

http://www.classicsunlocked.net/index.php/iliad_1/

http://www.classicsunlocked.net/index.php/iliad_1/text/

Mouse wheel doesn't work there.

Now try this:

save these two pages as local files and open again. You will be prompted to
allow active content. Until you do not allow active content, mouse wheel
works, but when you allow active content, mouse wheel stops to work
immediately.

So, it seems that some kind of active content can interfere with the
functioning of mouse wheel.
