ChessManiac.com

ChessManiac.com online chess site crashes the browser on its home page. also
the frames with scroll bars not working on this site too. Some images not
rendering correctly.

But the main issue is that the site crashes IE 8 when you try to load the
page.

Even if I switch back to emulate IE7 same thing happens.

Re: ChessManiac.com

I disabled all add ons... it appears to happen when i first load the browser
it opens two tabs and the first loads fine then the second tab seems to hang
it. I have http://www.chessmaniac.com set has my home page.

Please try with http://www.chessmaniac.com set as your home and see if you
can replicate the problem.

Thanks

Re: ChessManiac.com

Hm.. ok figured out why it was opening two tabs... cool new feature that
allows you to place more than one one wesite in as your home page. Ok but I
still have the issue of it crashing when I load the
http://www.chessmaniac.com home page. It is something at the end of the page
that loads at the last. It is either the ad code or the external link to
another site... Please try again and let the page fully load. It says done
but then it continues after it says done in the bottom left corner.

Please try again as the page still crashes for me.

Crashes for me too. Add-ons or no add-ons just the same. (on XP SP2)
Didn't need to set it as home page to get the crash.

Re: ChessManiac.com

I tried it. The page painted completely with no error. I went back to the
newsreader to read the next message in the thread. While I was doing that
IE8 popped the "has encountered a problem and needs to close" message.

I did it again and it appears to error on a request for something from
http://kona16.contera.com At that point the IE screen is blank except for
the top line with Free Online Chess. Try to close it and you get the not
responding message.

I get the same errors in NoAddOns mode. It works right in IE7 emulation.
Running XP SP3

Re: ChessManiac.com

OK now it seems to be working. How does this work? We report problems here
and somehow they get fixed and updated?

RE: ChessManiac.com

I have tried this site on 6 different machines now with and without addons on
and it's working just great.
