Re: Hijacking Home Page
Did you install any anti-spyware programs like Spybot or AdAware? Some of
those programs lock the home page to prevent hijacking. If you installed one such program before changing away from MSN, that could be the cause. Re: Hijacking Home Page
I had both before upgrading to IE7. I had never had this problem before.
Typically, the home page reverts back to MSN after reboot. Re: Hijacking Home Page
One or more options/settings in an ever-growing number of third-party
applications may be disallowing the change(s) from "sticking". These include but are not limited to Ad-aware's Ad-Watch, Spybot Tea Timer, SpywareBlaster, SpySweeper, Spyware Doctor, Norton AntiVirus, McAfee VirusScan and/or Antispyware, and Zone Alarm (Free and Pro). If ANY of the above were active when you installed IE7, You may have a horked install of IE7. I suggest that you... 1. Uninstall IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6) per http://www.ie-vista.com/kbase2.html 2. Uninstall all toolbars 3. Reinstall IE7 per http://www.ie-vista.com/known_issues.html#pre-install, and using http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/default.mspx as the installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update. Re: Hijacking Home Page
I have had this problem since last October and finally found the fix but
can't remember where. I'll be ever grateful to that person. It's so simple a 5 year old can do it. At your runonce page, copy and paste this: http://enhanceie.com/dl/NoRunOnce.reg It will remove runonce forever!
